چکیده

This paper describes different aspects of a disassembly system and presents the information model to obtain, on the one hand, the movements necessary for removing a component, and, on the other, a simulation of the disassembly process carried out. The inputs of the disassembly system are the CAD model of the product to be disassembled and the different features of the components stored in a database. Based on such information, an object-oriented model required for developing the disassembly process in a flexible way is generated. Local and global strategies for the removal of one component, using a set of translational movements, are described. Finally, the paper describes a simulation system that allows the verification of the disassembly movements automatically obtained, and simultaneously, to determine the ease of non-destructive disassembly. # 2004 Elsevier B.V. A Hybrid 3D Colon Segmentation Method Using Modified Geometric Deformable Models

Introduction: Nowadays virtual colonoscopy has become a reliable and efficient method of detecting primary stages of colon cancer such as polyp detection. One of the most important and crucial stages of virtual colonoscopy is colon segmentation because an incorrect segmentation may lead to a misdiagnosis.  Materials and Methods: In this work, a hybrid method based on Geometric Deformable Models...

Virtual Disassembly

− De-manufacturing is an entire process of collecting, disassembling, reusing, refurbishing, recycling, and/or disposing products that are obsolete or un-repairable. Designing the products for inexpensive and efficient disassembly enhances the ease of de-manufacturing. Virtual disassembly addresses the difficulty and the methods to disassemble a product in design stage rather than really disass...

Modeling crop cultivation pattern based on virtual water trade: evidence from Marvdasht in southern Iran

ABSTRACT- This study aims to model optimal cultivation pattern based on the maximization of importing virtual water and social net income of major crops in Marvdasht, Iran. For this purpose, a linear programming model was developed considering constraints of virtual water and land limitations followed by other models to include employment restrictions. Based on the findings, wheat and tomato we...

An Approach to Virtual Prototyping for Product Disassembly

An important aspect of Design for the Life Cycle is assessing the disassemblability of products. A product designed for disassembly can be quickly and easily broken down so its components can be recycled or refurbished. The use of virtual prototyping is proposed to aid the assessment of product disassembly by enabling the designer to virtually disassemble the product. A virtual prototype is a m...

Path-planning techniques for the simulation of disassembly tasks

Purpose – This paper aims to develop path-planning techniques that support a general selective disassembly planner in a virtual reality environment. Design/methodology/approach – The paper presents an automatic selective disassembly planning and two path-planning techniques that support it. The first one is based on single translations, while the second is based on the generation of a random se...
